- What are the differences between using a Security Device and using Passwords Only?
HSBC provides convenient and secure Internet Banking services to best suit each customer's needs.
If you login using Security Device, then you can enjoy and perform the full range of online@hsbc (HSBC Internet Banking) services as usual.
If you login using Passwords only, then you can open additional savings account, open time deposit, and buy/sell/switch mutual funds in addition to view your account history and e-statements. But you will be asked for a Security Code when you are about to perform 3rd party fund transfer and personal information update.
HSBC is serious about security and we are constantly working to maintain the highest of security standards for all of our services, including all Internet Banking services. We have multiple security features in place to protect our customers, while offering the most convenient access and functionality for our customer’s needs.
Some Internet Banking services require the use of a physical Security Device for added security. Customers who would like to enjoy the full range of Internet Banking services will need to apply for this Security Device. This application can be completed after logging into Internet Banking with Passwords Only, or by visiting one of our HSBC branches.
